Tuesday 12th June

Well, as it turns out the FTSE100 trade never came about as the index never hit the level I was looking for - so nothing ventured, nothing gained....
I had an email from Agora Lifestyles Ltd promoting a laying service that costs £700 a year. Sounds a tad pricey to me. Does anyone have any info about this?
A plethora of Bismarck's today wih the first one duly losing at the 3 o'clock at Redcar. Still on a Maiden hunt my attention was drawn to Appleby at the 3.45 at Salisbury. Although not (technically) a Midas Maiden selection the competition looked sufficiently weak so I layed this one at 2.4 thinking there was some value there. Turns out I was right.
The only other race worth looking at was a novice hurdle at Chester (6.30). Osprey View offered poor value at 1.4 on Betfair for a straight win so I took a place instead on Command Marshall. Not exactly going to retire to an island in the sun on odds of 1.35 but, hey, a win is a win. Not a bad day but I look for some rather more invigorating opportunities tomorrow.
